an animation school.
that's 12 months long.
and i'm finishing up my eighth week.
of term three out of six with final film concept.

i'm trying to finish my thumbnails for my storyboard so i can have karen look at them tomorrow morning, but all these goddamn camera angles are driving me insane. and i keep sneezing; i've been sick for the last week or so. i checked the calendar board earlier today, and saw that the term 4 schedule was up.

we have our leica reel presentations on november 12th
and we're supposed to pitch our storyboard ideas that we're working on now
to marv newland on the 9th
but last time i made my pitch to him
and asked for feedback
he just stared at me and i could feel his brain going
...
so i lied and said thanks, that helped a lot
before going back to my disc and panicking haha.

hopefully i'll be able to pull something out of my ass in time.
and manage to make it look good (if i'm lucky.)


so, until i graduate, i guess... don't expect even any hw uploads or doodle lol. orz



does anyone find it normal that their spine clicks when they walk? i have idiopathic scoliosis at around 30˚ or so, and haven't had surgery (yet?), and my left ankle is collapsed. in the past week i've noticed that every time i put my weight down on my left leg/foot when i'm walking casually, i can feel/internally "hear" my spine clicking, like the vertebrae are hitting each other. it's not exactly painful, per se, but it's becoming a slight discomfort and worry, which i really don't need at the moment.

my next appointment at the hospital isn't until mar. 30th next year, so idk what to do until then. any ideas on what may be causing it, or how to relieve/stop it?

it's only been 4 years after all.

i'm not exactly that.. amazed, or proud. i guess more or less i'm amused that my page has actually accumulated 20000 pageviews over time haha. idk if there's gonna be much point in submitting my schoolwork in the future, since mostly we're focusing on actual animations, not illustrations in the next few months.. oh well~



soo i played some of the demo version of ffxiii this past weekend~ it was pretty fun, though figuring out the battle system at first was a little strange. i understood that there was real time, like in ffx-2, but i think it'd be more fun if it was open-plain battle like in ffxii.. but then again, it could also be a bit overwhelming.
the graphics were really nice, but some of the costumes are like... lol-worthy. like the girl with half a skirt haha. i remember there was a camera-angle shift, and i asked, "wasn't she wearing a skirt? did it come off while she was fighting?"

unfortunately, i didn't make it to the end of the demo, because just as i was learning how to heal, snow got owned lmao. stupid heavy boss was almost ko'd too. ;n;



it's been like, 5 months, but i'm apartment hunting again, this time in dt, closer to my school. it's.. been making me so frustrated. i mean, things wouldn't be so bad if every listing on craigslist wasn't a scam, and if viewings we set up actually happened, instead of us walking 20min to the place, waiting an hour for the manager, and then wasting our time overall.

BUT BUT BUT--

after all that time wasted today, we checked a listing newly posted online today, and were kind of disappointed when all we got was a recording at the other end telling us to meet under the awning for 7pm. soo, we chilled around school for 2 hours before heading over. but the place seems so.. perfect. granted, it's really old, but considering the size and cost vs location... it's like, 2 min from the beach, and 5 min from school. i don't think we'll be able to find a nicer place anywhere else, and i'm tired of spending 5 hours a day walking, and then 7 hours at home searching.

so, hopefully... i'll still be able to enjoy my 1 week break at the end of this month, move, and get comfortable in the new place by the time 3rd term starts. ; if not... well, fml.

6. i also dreamed last night that i was part of some hiking squad that had various items to carry in their backpack, and i picked up a yoshi egg, along with a few other people. however, when we were crossing the street downtown looking for a place for lunch, i tripped and the egg cracked open, and i picked up the poor little fetus that refused to move or show life. it survived the wilderness fine, but a city sidewalk? ...


my dreams range from very happy to very, very depressing.

8. i'll probably be done all schooling by the end of next year, if i continue with the 3d digital design program; otherwise, next april. it's kinda scary to think about.

i spent the day off at school today haha. well, and sleeping. cuz i like sleep.
i managed to finish my walk cycle a lot faster than most people, and for once, i'm not finishing an assignment up in class the day it's due~

but omg.
i bought a lock a few weeks ago for my cupboard cuz i was losing materials, handouts, and some other stuff. i though maybe it was the case of how i always seemed to misplace things, but i disregarded that possibility when i found handouts and assignments with others' writing on it in my shelves. and today, a guy from the ca71 class came in all authoritative and asked if anyone had been losing anything. i told him, "my peg bars", cuz it's true. my disc had no peg bars when i went in one day. i went to place my bg design on the disc and it just slid off onto the ground.

but apparently, ca72 has been complaining that their animation papers have been rather thinned out through the days, and it's not because they're using it a lot. even i noticed my stack was reducing rapidly. i had just gotten 100 sheets from resources on a thursday a few weeks ago, and the following tuesday, i had to go get another 100 because i was down to about 15. the problem is, no one ever seems to see anyone taking these things, which is really strange, since some people live at the school quite literally, since they live within 5min walk.

but apparently, today, some guy from ca72 had his wallet and cell phone stolen. i also ran into some shady characters, too. like, when i was coming up the stair well to the 3rd floor animation, some guy i'd never seen before was walking down from 4th floor foundations, and it was almost like he had been running down around the corner to meet me in front of the door. he was all looking at me, motioning towards the door, smiling... like a jackass. i was like, "is there something wrong with your keycard?" and i checked him over for any id but saw nothing. it was sort of odd for someone to be coming down from 4th floor to 3rd, ntm i'd never seen him before, and it was a holiday.. i just ignored him, used my card and went in, walking as fast as i could to get distance between us since the door opens to a poorly visible hallway, and then saw him "sign in" at the security desk, where the guard was lacking, again.. wtf.

and even later on, i was sitting at my light table, and the way the door is, anyone who walks by sees me first, and vice versa, so i'm used to telling other students from ca72 or 71 whether or not a certain instructor or student is in the room. except, tonight, some really out of place guys walked by; really tall, big, white men carrying what i recognized to be a pretty standard tape measurer used in construction and a white plastic bag with something square and black in it. not only did they look out of place, the timing was wrong too; maintenance without any head around, at 10pm? on a holiday? nooo, don't think so. what was worse was, this one guy stared at me, so i made eye contact and took out an earpiece, thinking he was gonna ask me something, like most people do, but after the normal 2 seconds, he just kept staring for another 5 before walking onwards.


i was thoroughly uncomfortable.


the security guard kept pacing around too; kind of odd, the guy usually just sits in his chair texting or playing solitaire.
shortly after the weird guys walked by, one of my classmates got a strange phone call from some guy claiming to have met her, asking her where she was, what she was doing, when she was free. she politely declined, but apparently he was staked outside waiting for her, so when she left, some of the guys had to escort her out. it's not the first time some of my classmates have been stalked, but at least it was by other people in the school... things are just suddenly very different; i don't feel as safe working there as i did before, at least, not on the weekends, without the familiar classmates, instructors and administration.



3 more weeks before my 1 week summer vacation..
will i last? haha.

i still want to get better though

i need ideas before story concept in term 3 omggg
i'm so bad at this haha
but watching previous CA demo reels is amusing, at the very least
my school continues to surprise me haha
i like when other students put past demo reels on the tv in our classroom
some most of these aren't safe for all ages



i hope i can some up with something good by february haha.
god summer break seems so far away at this point..
